In simpler terms, a silhouette is the outline of a garment or more specifically, a dress.

1. Sheath silhouette
Chances are that at least one of your office-wear dresses is featured in this silhouette. It is form-fitting from top to bottom and hugs the body flatteringly.

2. A-line silhouette
This silhouette is fitted in the bodice and flares slightly in the skirt, making it look like…you guessed it…a capital A!
